Exposure and Profit II Review

Connie JenniferI attended a 3-day Internet Marketing Conference, “Exposure and Profit II”, hosted by Kelly McCausey. The 3-day event kicked off with a Small Group Masterminding Day and I was privileged to be in a group with Connie Ragen Green and Justin Popovic as our advisors. The next 2 days included presentations around the theme of the conference, Content Marketing and Community Building, with an amazing group of presenters and attendees.

Danielle Tawnya JenniferDuring the conference I got to know a couple of my fellow virtual support professionals offline – Tawnya Sutherland and her daughter, Danielle Beauchemin – and met many online marketers I’ve been following for years – all of whom are humble about their success, ethical business owners and generous with their sharing. I got to spend more time with my colleague, Angela Wills, carpooling back and forth. And from my notes of everyone who presented and advised that weekend, I’d like to share with you some of what I took away from attending the event.

Recommended Reading

If these books aren’t already on your book shelf or ‘books to read’ list you might want to add them. These are just a few of the business books recommended by Justin Popovic during our Mastermind group session:

*Rework by Jason Fried – teaches a better, faster, easier way to succeed in business.

*The 10X Rule: The Only Difference Between Success and Failure by Grant Cardone – teaches the level of action that guarantees companies and individuals realize their goals and dreams.

*The One Thing: The Surprisingly Simple Truth Behind Extraordinary Results by Gary Keller – teaches people this simple, powerful concept to focus on what matters most for more rewarding personal and work lives.

Creating Better Content

If you write content for sales pages and blog posts for yourself or for clients, here are some tips that Lynn Terry shared to create good content quickly & easily and make that content more effective:

*Answer all the potential questions from your market and address all the possible negatives in advance. No matter what you are selling, anticipate what your market might ask or say and address those questions and comments, always.

*Create as much content as you consume. I love this tip because if we’re consuming too much, we never leave space to create and get things done.

*Address every single negative comment about any product or service you are promoting. Remember there are more people out there with the same negativity that just haven’t been brave enough to speak up. Don’t sweep it under the carpet or delete the comment. Bring up any negativity surrounding your topic and discuss it. Addressing a concern can change a negative into a positive and turn into a selling point.

Words Of Wisdom

There was a lot of learning in 3 days and too much to cover in one article. So I’ll wrap up with a few ‘Words Of Wisdom’ quoted by some of the presenters.

“Do more of what’s working and less of what’s not.” Lynn Terry

“Treat your community like your children.” Kristen Joy

“The more money you make, the more impact you can have.” Stu McLaren

In summary, if you get the opportunity to attend a live event with your peers, especially those of us working virtually from a home office, you’ll find it to be a great learning and motivational experience and a lot of fun. As a bonus you get to build upon and make new relationships and those connections and the community we build are most often what determines how successful our businesses will be.
